Press release for Dogwood Jamboree Dec. 1st, 2018 at Palestine High School Auditorium
All Dogwood Jamboree fans will gather at the Palestine High School Auditorium Saturday night Dec. 1st at 7 P.M. for “An All Star Christmas”. “We are truly excited about presenting the annual Christian show from the stage at the high school. The show has been a tremendous success and has served to provide a great venue of family entertainment.” said Dan Manuel producer. We have been blessed through the previous 14 years with wonderful sponsors and participation from Palestine, and actually all over Texas. The show will feature The “ International All Star Banjo Band” of Houston. The group of about 40 young people all talented musicians, playing banjo’s guitars, fiddles, etc will appear on the stage of the Jamboree that night. They are internationally known and have performed all over the country. Also featured on the show will be Dan Manuel, Amanda Lane,Tammy Bostick, Jodi Brown, Sissy Perry, Rodney Ray, Joe Hancock, George Lester and band members W.J. Copeland, Bobby Perry, Mike Kellogg, Ricky Hobbs, Billy Lane, Joe Hancock, Shelia Weaver and Trey Pope.Comedians, “Jus C. Leroy”, “Flo” and the Dogwood Jamboree singers will also be on stage for a wonderful evening of entertainment. Four young artists will compete for “Dogwood Jamboree Talent Search Artist of the Year 2018.” “For a long time we have wanted to give the young people of the area an opportunity to perform and in some way help them to advance their music ambitions.” said Manuel. A number of young people auditioned for the show last year and the judges selected those with the highest score to perform on the 2018 venues. Our winner of the Jamboree talent search last year was Zac Clifton of Houston, Texas. The winners on previous shows this year will be competing for the title “Artist of the Year 2018”. Others who have performed on the stage of the Jamboree have advanced to bigger venues. Auditions for the March 2018 show will be held in early March of next year. Those wishing to audition can call 903-724-2556 or 903-723-6291. Those auditioning for the talent search contest must be eighteen years or younger. There is no entry fee for auditioning. The show promises to be a memorable event and one that will attract a lot of folks. “It is amazing how many people come from the metroplex area, Houston and other parts of the state for the Jamboree. “Many people travel to Branson, Mo. or Nashville, Tennessee for similar productions, and from the continued reviews we have received in numerous country music publications, the quality of the Jamboree and the performers are equal in many respects,” according to Manuel. “We want to encourage those who have never attended one of the shows, to make a special effort to bring the family to the Palestine High School Auditorium and enjoy the music, artists and comedy that fills the auditorium during the evening. Those competing on the show that night will be selected by a panel of judges and audience vote. Local artists will take the stage with those from other cities all over the state of Texas. The show is sponsored by local businesses and is designed as “family entertainment”. Children often appear on the show as well as adults of varying ages. “Many of the people who attend are previous attendees. They love the show and return and bring friends with them,” stated Manuel. “The annual Christmas show this year is sure to be one of the best performances of the Jamboree and we encourage Palestine and the surrounding area to join us along with visitors from various cities and states. We invite Palestine and the surrounding area to join us for this performance. The show starts at 7 P.M. and doors open at 6 P.M. At the intermission, door prizes donated by local merchants and businesses will be given away. Advanced tickets for the show can be purchased at Hometown Pharmacy, Pronto’s Pizza, Bishops Brisket House, Mail and More or by calling 903-724-2556 or 903-723-6291.
