If you’re ready for some good ole “Country Music” the Palestine Civic Center is the place to be Saturday night August 12th. The Palestine Dogwood Jamboree will present “A Taste of Country”. The show in August will feature The Jack Hall from Houston. Jack is featured on many country music venues in Texas and other states. “He is a great entertainer and the audience will surely enjoy his performance.” Dan Manuel said. Jack is one of the “Hall Brothers” who have performed on the show before. Tavi Spivey will also be entertaining the audience that evening. She is one of the performers with “Shake Rattle and Roll”. She like Jack Hall will entertain those in attendance with song from the past. Others who will be performing that night are: Joe Hancock, Amanda Lane, Hal Roper, George Lester, Sissy Perry, W.J. Copeland, Mike Kellogg, Shelia Weaver, Rodney Ray, “Just C. Leroy” and Manuel. Three young artists (who will be selected in preliminary competition) will compete for the Dogwood Jamboree Talent Search for August and the winner will advance to the finals on Dec. 2nd of this year. “These young people along with others are talented and we are happy to have them on the show.” said Manuel. A number of young people auditioned for the show last year and the judges selected those with the highest score to perform on the 2016 venues. Other young people who have performed on the stage of the Jamboree have advanced to bigger venues.

It is amazing how many people come from numerous metropolitan areas like Houston, Dallas and other parts of the state come for the Jamboree.” said Manuel. “The last show in June attracted many new attendees from as far away as Oklahoma, North Dakota, Tennessee, Alabama, New Mexico, and in Texas cities as far away as Amarillo and Corpus Christi. It was a great show and we believe that this show will be equally attended and as entertaining”. said Manuel
We continue to receive great reviews from numerous country music publications like American Profile, Coast To Coast Country Music Magazine, the In Magazine, etc, the quality of the Jamboree because our performers are equal in many respects to some of the more pronounced recording artists” Manuel also said. If you are looking for a good time and great country music, this is the place to be on Saturday night August 12th . Come bring the family out and enjoy the music, artists and comedy that fills the civic center during the evening performance and vote for your favorite artist in the talent search contest.” said Manuel . Those competing on the show that night will be selected by a panel of judges and audience vote. Local artists will take the stage with those from other cities all over the state of Texas.
